Information Integrity Review (Gap Analysis)

A review to understand the available information relating to the building, to assess the availability, completeness, and suitability of the information. 

There are various use cases for this service as highlighted below, this would not be a technical check of content (unless agreed prior). Although as a stand-alone service it can be very useful at a high level to highlight compliance or non-compliance.

  • Assess a portfolio of properties to check if current conditions comply

  • Can be carried out prior to a Gateway or before procurement of a building or other stages (i.e. sign off on Golden Thread)

  • Useful for checking sufficiency of Fire and Emergency File.

  • Useful to carry out before undertaking refurbishment works to existing HRB's.

  • Useful for management companies before procuring a building or for Contractors acquiring other contractors to check information is sufficient and complete which could have implications under the Defective Premises Act etc.

  • Carry out a gap analysis to help the client understand what documentation and/or systems are missing to comply with the Building Safety Act and it's accompanying legislation​

Gateway Support

We have helped large Developers with Gateway 2 Applications for new HRBs and have also assessed applications for refurbishment works to existing HRBs for Social Housing Landlords.

We can assist you in preparing your application and 'accompanying documents' and provide co-ordination services for completing documents such as your Building Regulations Compliance Statements and Fire & Emergency File.

Review of  Policies, Procedures and Processes

The BSR take a robust and pragmatic approach and understand organisations simply cannot disregard their existing systems, protocols and procedures. It therefore encourages where necessary that existing policies, procedures and protocols are adapted to take into consideration the prescriptive requirements and comply. The review would begin with understanding the current practices via workshops. Three options would be available:

  • Can be a high-level overview with recommendations, or

  • Complete rehaul of systems with Our largely devising policies, procedures and protocols (based on information collected via workshops), or

  • Our to give initial advice, Client to update documents, Our to do final review.

Digital Golden Thread

Our DGT coordination service will provide DGT planning and support to our client and ensure that they fulfil their DGT duties. Our DGT Coordinators will develop a programme (in line with the construction programme) with time critical information exchange points to ensure DGT duties have been met. Our DGT Coordinators will liaise with the client, the client’s agencies, sub-contractors, and other relevant parties to assist in the collection of the right evidence from the right persons at the right time in the process. The DGT Coordination Team have the capability of providing gap analyses at the relevant Gateways and IEPs (Information Exchange Points) to assist the outgoing or incoming dutyholders in meeting their DGT duties during their phase of responsibility.

Training and Advisory (Retainer or Ad-hoc)

We can provide ad hoc advisory or training packages. Currently we have a 

The training programme has been designed to give a detailed insight to the Building Safety Act and secondary legislation.  Topics covered include:

  • Detailed overview of Gateway Process through to occupation

  • Overview of Fire & Emergency file, Change Control, Mandatory Occurrence Reporting and resident Engagement

  • Role of BSR, Duty holders, clients, PDs and PCs in the BSA – including Information on fines and penalties for non-compliance

  • Detailed Overview of the BSA and secondary legislation

  • The Digital Golden Thread

Toolkit Development

Following a series of workshops with your organisation and the defined stakeholders, we will produce a toolkit to advise on all matters related to the Building Safety Act. The toolkit is informed by various sources, including legislation, BSR webinars, Government guidance etc in order to be as accurate and informative as possible. As the current guidance and information is scattered it acts as first point of reference for questions that your company may have and gives guidance in 'bitesize' answers which are simple to understand and direct your organisation.

  • Processes and Procedures guides are developed.

  • Can be used throughout development and operational phases.

  • Improves internal governance around BSA offering.

Building Safety Case (TBC)

We will, in collaboration with the Principal Accountable Person (PAP) & Accountable Persons (APs), to generate the Safety Case Report. This document will form a narrative of the building with respect to the safety in relation to:

  • Fire Safety

  • Structural Safety

  • Utilities and Services
